Svelte.im Ltd. was founded in 2006 by Lawrence Brooks to extend the Svelte technical capabilities in to the active management of Lawrence's investments.

The core asset that is controlled by the Svelte.im Ltd. management was BTL, a wholesale international carrier with a Tier 1 licence based in London and Southern Africa. This was sold to an Asian investor in March 2009

Lawrence set up Svelte.com Ltd in 1998 after integrating Equisoft Ltd. into Reuters Group Plc on its purchase by them. Lawrence was Product Development Director of Equisoft Ltd. Svelte.com Ltd analyses, manages and defines strategic technologies (Encryption, Micro-payments, Transaction Technologies and Telecoms) for the commercial benefit of investors and boards of companies. Prior to joining Equisoft in 1993 Lawrence was involved in the strategic project management of large engineering projects. Lawrence holds an MBA, research into Quantitative Financial Risk Management Techniques, and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering. Also, Lawrence is an alumnus of INSEAD - IEP 2000
